MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for June 24, 2021

Thursday’s MLB DFS player pool affords daily Fantasy baseball players some intriguing options. Do you anchor your pitching rotations around Minnesota’s Jose Berrios, who is 7-2 with a 3.6 ERA heading into a home start against the Cleveland Indians? Or do you spend big on Dodgers starter Walker Buehler, who is 7-0 with a 2.38 ERA as the Washington Nationals come to Chavez Ravine?

Buehler will cost $11,500 on DraftKings and $11,000 on FanDuel, while Berrios is going for $10,400 and $9,000. Which starting pitcher is likely to perform the best in your MLB DFS strategy, and what positional players should you consider in our MLB DFS lineups? Before locking in any MLB DFS lineups for Thursday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Wednesday, McClure recommended Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer as one of his top options on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Bauer struck out 10 over six innings on his way to putting up over 22 points on DraftKings and 43 points on FanDuel. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for June 24, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Thursday is Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien at $5,400 on DraftKings and $3,400 on FanDuel. Semien is hitting .278 with 18 home runs and 42 RBIs this season. He doubled and scored Wednesday against the Marlins.

Semien has excelled in his first season as a Blue Jay, hitting 54 points higher and posting an OPS 183 points higher than his 2020 effort in Oakland. The 30-year-old Semien has also posted 14 doubles through 72 games this season and has scored 51 times. Semien and Toronto get Baltimore right-hander Dean Kremer (0-6, 6.20 ERA) on Thursday, a pitcher Semien homered against earlier this season.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy Thursday also includes stacking Semien with Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez at $4,500 on DraftKings and $3,000 on FanDuel. Hernandez is hitting .299 with 10 homers and 43 RBIs this season. He doubled home a run in a road victory Wednesday against the Marlins.

Hernandez also has 10 doubles and 26 runs scored this season, and is projected to equal his strong 2018 stats — even though he is currently hitting 60 points higher in 2021. He also should take advantage of this matchup with Kremer as he has over twice as many RBIs against righties this season. That screams mismatch, one that McClure loves in all MLB DFS formats.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for June 24, 2021
