MLB DFS: Top Red Sox vs. Astros FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 15, 2021

Two teams coming off identical 3-1 LDS victories will meet in the ALCS as the Astros host the Red Sox in Game 1 at 8:07 p.m. ET. Both boast elite offenses as the Astros rank second in the AL in OPS while the Red Sox come in at third. Each squad is also loaded with individual sluggers who can break the game open with one swing of the bat which will make the ALCS all the more exciting. Rafael Devers, J.D. Martinez, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are all key names to identify for MLB DFS lineups.

But you’ll need more than just stars to complete your lineups so you’ll have to scour the rest of the MLB DFS player pool. Can someone like Kyle Tucker be one of the top MLB DFS picks after he homered twice in the ALDS vs. Chicago? And what about Kyle Schwarber of the Red Sox who has a history LCS exploits? Before making any tough decisions on your MLB DFS picks for Red Sox vs. Astros, make sure you check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Thursday, McClure listed Giants 1B/OF Darin Ruf among his top MLB DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Ruf launched a 452-foot home run to return 14 points on DraftKings and 18.7 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the MLB playoffs 2021 continuing on Friday, October 15, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Friday, October 15

One of McClure’s top Red Sox vs. Astros MLB DFS picks for Friday is Astros third baseman Alex Bregman. The White Sox couldn’t keep Bregman off the base paths in the ALDS as he collected hits in all four games and posted a .375 average for the series. Bregman also contributed four RBI and had a double in his last game on Tuesday.

Bregman missed a good chunk of the season due to injuries, but he carved up left-handed pitching when he was on the field. His OPS was 95 points higher versus southpaws like probable starter Chris Sale than against right-handed pitchers. He also battered Boston pitching as a whole as Bregman posted a .321/.406/.536 split against the Red Sox in 28 at-bats. Bregman has lots going for him against the Red Sox starter and their bullpen, so you can see why McClure is high on him.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Red Sox outfielder Hunter Renfroe, who is batting .300 and has a base hit in every game this postseason. Renfroe has reached base safely nine times through five postseason games and also collected an extra-base hit in his last playoff game on Monday.

Renfroe also hammered lefties this year to the tune of an .882 OPS. That is 103 points higher than his OPS against righties and he’ll face a southpaw on the mound in Framber Valdez. Renfroe also has to be rejoicing that the first pitch of Friday’s game will take place at 8:07 p.m. ET as he was two different hitters in night games compared to day games. Renfroe had an OPS a staggering 324 points higher in night games as 25 of his 31 home runs also came after dusk.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for Friday, October 15

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Friday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
