NBA DFS: Best Lakers vs. Nuggets FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for Sept. 22, 2020

NBA DFS players who rolled big with Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals got almost as much out of Davis as did Lakers fans themselves. Davis dropped a game-high 31 points on the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, including a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to earn a 105-103 victory. The win secured a 2-0 Los Angeles series lead, with Game 3 set for Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET in the Orlando NBA bubble.

Is Davis a bankable NBA DFS player in Tuesday’s Lakers vs. Nuggets Game 3? Or is there better value elsewhere among the NBA DFS player pool that can lead you to big cashes in tournaments on sites like DraftKings or FanDuel? Before locking in any NBA DFS lineups for Game 3 of Nuggets vs. Lakers, don’t miss the NBA DFS advice, core lineup picks and player rankings from SportsLine’s Mike McClure, a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career.

McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

McClure rolled through the 2018-19 NBA season, producing multiple lineups that led to huge returns for followers, including as much as 40x on FanDuel and 84x on DraftKings. He saw multiple huge cashes again early in the 2019-20 NBA season and got 2020 off to a blistering start with his optimal lineup returning at least 7x on DraftKings on three of the first five days of the new year. He’s returned 4x or more multiple times since that point. Anybody following him has seen huge returns.

The last time these teams met on Sunday, McClure identified Lakers forward Anthony Davis as one of his top picks. The result: Davis filled the stat sheet with 31 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal — putting up over 51 points on DraftKings.

Now he’s turned his attention to Tuesday’s single-game Lakers vs. Nuggets DFS slate. Head to SportsLine to see his optimal NBA DFS picks

McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Sept. 22

For Tuesday, McClure is high on Nuggets guard Jamal Murray. The fourth-year pro out of Kentucky filled the stat sheet again in Game 2, scoring 25 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing for assists, swatting two blocks and recording two steals. He did that in 44 minutes of work, which was six over his 38.8 minutes-per-game average in the postseason.

Murray has been stellar in the 2020 NBA Playoffs, averaging 26.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 16 games thus far. And he is trending upward from his 18.5 ppg average against the Lakers in the regular season, which will need to continue for the Nuggets to stay alive in the Western Conference Finals. McClure loves Murray’s flair for the big game, and sees him offering tremendous NBA DFS value Tuesday.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy for Tuesday includes rostering Lakers forward LeBron James. King James was just that in Game 2, scoring 26 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dishing four assists and swatting two blocks in 36 minutes. That marked James’ eighth straight double-double of the postseason.

James’ scoring in the 2020 NBA Playoffs (25.6 ppg) has been virtually identical to his regular-season numbers (25.3 ppg), but he is grabbing 2.2 rebounds per game in 12 postseason starts this season. And while he is dishing 1.5 fewer assists per game, that means James is assimilating more into his natural small forward position than taking over the point for the Lakers. James’ NBA DFS price tag may be high, but so too is his value Tuesday in all NBA DFS formats.
