McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Thursday

For Thursday, McClure is high on Miami Heat small forward Jimmy Butler ($8,100 on FanDuel, $7,900 on DraftKings). Butler went for 25 points (10-21 FG, 0-3 threes, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds and one assist in last Wednesday’s loss to the Jazz. That game was a bit of an aberration for Butler, as he is dishing out 6.1 assists per game this season — and it was just the sixth time this season Butler hasn’t recorded a steal or a block.

Butler leads the Heat in scoring at 20.6 points per game, and is also grabbing 6.8 rebounds per outing this season. Butler and the Heat get the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, a team that ranks 27th in the NBA defending his position. Butler is consistently productive, and McClure sees him delivering Thursday for your NBA DFS roster.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy also includes rostering Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox ($7,800 on FanDuel, $7,400 on DraftKings). Fox went for 16 points, four assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal against the Mavericks last Wednesday heading into the All-Star break. Fox’s third season in Sacramento has continued an upward trend since he entered the NBA out of Kentucky, as he is averaging 19.7 points and 7.0 assists.

Fox and the Kings get the Grizzlies on Thursday, a team he has dominated in two meetings this season, scoring an average of 24.5 points, grabbing 3.5 rebounds and dishing out 6.5 assists.

How to set your NBA DFS lineups on Thursday

McClure is also targeting another player who has a dream matchup on Thursday. The stars are aligning for him to return 50, even 60 points on DraftKings and FanDuel. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
