NBA DFS: Joel Embiid and best FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for Feb. 24, 2020

Monday’s 16-team NBA DFS player pool is filled with superstars to potentially build NBA DFS lineups around. Sophomore stud Trae Young (30.0 points per game) and the Atlanta Hawks take on Joel Embiid (23.1 ppg, 12.0 rebounds per game) and the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. ET. And reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (30.0 ppg) leads his Milwaukee Bucks in action against Bradley Beal (29.6 ppg) and the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m. ET.

Are Young, Embiid, Antetokounmpo or Beal wise choices to roster Monday, or are you better off going a different direction? Either way, don’t make critical NBA DFS roster moves on your own. • James Harden ($11,500 on FanDuel, $11,000 on DraftKings)
  • Russell Westbrook ($10,400 on FanDuel, $10,200 on DraftKings)
  • Joel Embiid ($10,000 on FanDuel, $9,500 on DraftKings)

McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Monday

For Monday, we McClure is high on Embiid at $10,000 on FanDuel and $9,500 on DraftKings. Embiid went for 17 points (5-18 FG, 1-2 threes, 6-7 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block Saturday at Milwaukee. That marked Embiid’s second straight double-double and his sixth in the last seven games.

Embiid should be relied upon Monday for extra offensive output, as Ben Simmons (back) left Saturday’s game early and won’t be available to play. With Embiid and the 76ers facing a Hawks team that ranks 29th in the NBA defending his position, McClure figures rostering the Philadelphia big man is a no-brainer in all NBA DFS formats.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy for Monday includes adding Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Luka Doncic ($9,800 on FanDuel, $10,500 on DraftKings). While Doncic was held out of Saturday’s Mavericks game with soreness in his right ankle, Dallas expects to have him back in the lineup Monday against the Timberwolves. In his first game after the All-Star break, Doncic went for 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists Friday in a win over Orlando.

Doncic has been superb all season, putting together an NBA MVP-caliber season with 29.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game. He played well in the Mavs’ lone previous game against Minnesota this season, scoring 22 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing six assists. The Timberwolves rank 25th in the NBA defending Doncic’s position, and McClure loves him for your NBA DFS roster.
