NBA DFS: Tobias Harris and best FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for Feb. 27, 2020

With just eight teams stocking Thursday’s NBA DFS player pool, there are some tough calls to make when building NBA DFS lineups. CJ McCollum (29.5 points per game) leads the Portland Trail Blazers against T.J. Warren (18.5 ppg) and the Indiana Pacers at 8 p.m. ET. Anthony Davis (26.7 ppg) looks to take up the slack with LeBron James (groin) out when the Los Angeles Lakers play Eric Paschall (13.2 ppg) and the depleted Golden State Warriors.

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Buddy Hield and Chris Paul will be one of the more intriguing possible NBA DFS stacks when the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Sacramento Kings at 8 p.m. ET. Before entering an NBA DFS tournament like FanDuel’s $400K Thursday NBA Shot Machine and the $400K Shootaround on DraftKings, be sure to check out the optimal NBA DFS picks and strategy from daily Fantasy pro Mike McClure, who has won almost $2 million in his career.

McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

McClure rolled through the 2018-19 NBA season, producing multiple lineups that led to huge returns for followers, including as much as 40x on FanDuel and 84x on DraftKings. He saw multiple huge cashes again early in the 2019-20 NBA season and got 2020 off to a blistering start with his optimal lineup returning at least 7x on DraftKings on three of the first five days of the new year. He’s returned 4x or more multiple times since that point. Anybody following him has seen huge returns.

Now, he’s turned his attention to Thursday’s NBA schedule. Head to SportsLine to see his optimal NBA DFS picks. Here are five of the most expensive players in Thursday’s NBA DFS player pool:

  • Anthony Davis ($10,800 on FanDuel, $10,300 on DraftKings)
  • Hassan Whiteside ($9,500 on FanDuel, $8,800 on DraftKings)
  • CJ McCollum ($8,800 on FanDuel, $9,000 on DraftKings)
  • Domantas Sabonis ($8,400 on FanDuel, $9,100 on DraftKings)
  • Chris Paul ($7,400 on FanDuel, $7,900 on DraftKings)

McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Thursday

For Thursday, McClure is high on Philadelphia 76ers small forward Tobias Harris ($7,000 on FanDuel, $7,500 on DraftKings). Even on a sore knee, Harris went for 25 points (9-18 FG, 4-6 threes, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal Monday against the Hawks. It was Harris’ best scoring night in five games, though at 18.9 points per game, he has been a solid performer all season.

With Ben Simmons (back) out indefinitely and Joel Embiid (shoulder) out Thursday, look for Harris to be leaned on even more when the Sixers take on the Knicks — a team he has averaged 16 points, six rebounds and 2.7 assists against in three games this season. Couple that with New York ranking 26th in the NBA in point differential, and McClure sees Thursday being a huge night for Harris.

Part of McClure’s optimal Thursday NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Davis at $10,800 on FanDuel and $10,300 on DraftKings. Davis went for 21 points (6-21 FG, 0-3 threes, 9-10 FT), 14 rebounds, six blocks, three assists and a steal Tuesday against the Pelicans. Unlike James (elbow), Davis is probable Thursday despite a sore left elbow.

Through nine games this month, Davis is averaging 26.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 steals in 34.8 minutes. In this season’s previous meeting against Golden State, Davis went for 27 points, 10 rebounds, four rebounds, three steals and a block. Without King James in the lineup, McClure sees Thursday being a huge night for Davis and recommends him in all NBA DFS formats.
