NFL odds, Vegas lines, picks, spreads, bets, predictions for Week 7, 2021: Model loving Lions, Patriots

The only game last week to feature a double-digit spread was Houston at Indianapolis, where the Colts handily covered the 11.5-point margin in a 31-3 win. The Week 7 NFL schedule features six matchups with NFL spreads of 10 points or more, and the Texans are two-touchdown home underdogs this week. Which NFL odds should you target in a week with six teams on bye? Houston’s opponent this week, the Arizona Cardinals, have only been road favorites once this season, but covered in that spot against Jacksonville.

Arizona has won four of its five road games this season by at least two touchdowns, but are massive 17.5 favorites in the latest NFL Vegas odds from Caesars Sportsbook. All of the Week 7 NFL lines are listed below, and SportsLine’s advanced computer model has all the NFL betting advice and predictions you need to make the best Week 7 NFL picks now

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,700 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 7 of the 2021 season on an incredible 125-85 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, it has turned its attention to the latest Week 7 NFL odds from Caesars and locked in picks for every NFL matchup. Head here to see every pick.

Top Week 7 NFL predictions

One of the model’s strongest Week 7 NFL picks is that the Patriots (-7) cover the spread against the Jets in 60 percent of simulations. It’s been a slog for Bill Belichick since Tom Brady left for the Buccaneers, with New England going 7-9 last season and off to a 2-4 start in 2021. However, the Patriots have taken two of the best teams in the NFL to the wire and also collected a needed win over the Texans in the last three weeks.

The Patriots hosted Brady in Week 4 and were an upright away from winning outright as 6.5-point underdogs. Then they took the Cowboys to overtime. Meanwhile, the Jets have given up 880 yards the last two weeks and haven’t put up more than 355 yards of total offense in a game all season.

New England has covered the spread in seven of its last 10 against the Jets. Mac Jones is clearly the more developed of the two rookie quarterbacks at this point and the model predicts two more interceptions from Zach Wilson as the Patriots cover in nearly 60 percent of simulations.

Another one of the model’s Week 7 NFL predictions: The Lions (+15) cover against the Rams well over 50 percent of the time. L.A. had no trouble dispatching the New York Giants last week, 38-11, and are 2-1 overall and against the spread as home favorites in 2021. Cincinnati dominated Detroit last week in a 34-11 win and the Lions have lost by at least 10 points in two of their last three games.

Detroit has generated pressure at the eighth-highest rate in the NFL while blitzing at the tenth-highest clip. The Rams have one of the best pass-blocking offensive lines this season, but could face a tougher challenge than meets the eye.

The Rams should control the game, but shouldn’t be pressed to have to throw this week. Projections show Rams running backs Darrell Henderson and Sony Michel combining for 104 yards, but Los Angeles primarily runs clock and the Lions manage to keep the score within 15 points in just over 50 percent of simulations.

How to make Week 7 NFL picks

The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other game on the Week 7 NFL schedule, and it’s calling for a Super Bowl contender to go down hard. You can only get every pick for every game at SportsLine.
