PGA DFS, CJ Cup 2021: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy golf picks, advice, strategy, lineups

Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy have been popular PGA DFS picks for years, but daily Fantasy golf players will have to decide if they can be trusted when they set their PGA DFS strategy for the 2021 CJ Cup, which tees off on Thursday. Johnson, who’s among the highest priced players on both DraftKings and FanDuel, has finished T-10 or better in three of his last four starts on the PGA Tour. However, Johnson has also missed the cut twice in his last five PGA Tour events.

McIlroy, whose PGA DFS price is $10,100 on DraftKings and $11,400 on FanDuel, finished outside the top-20 in his last start at the CJ Cup. Can those household names be relied on as PGA DFS picks this week? Or is it time to fade them in favor of players with a significantly lower price tag? Before you lock in your PGA DFS picks for the 2021 CJ Cup, you’ll want to see the latest daily Fantasy golf picks, advice and player pool from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS pro with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and he’s been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season. McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every tournament 10,000 times, taking factors like statistical trends, past results and current form into account. This allows him to find the best PGA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any PGA DFS player.

Last week at the Shriners Children’s Open, McClure included Louis Oosthuizen among his top PGA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Oosthuizen secured a top-15 finish with a score of 15-under par, returning 95 points on DraftKings and 109.3 on FanDuel. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable weekend.

In addition, McClure’s model is up almost $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has set his sights on the CJ Cup 2021 and revealed his optimal PGA DFS advice, strategy and player pool. Head to SportsLine now to see his top daily Fantasy golf picks for the 2021 CJ Cup

Top 2021 CJ Cup PGA DFS picks

One of McClure’s top PGA DFS picks for the CJ Cup 2021: Paul Casey at $8,200 on DraftKings and $9,400 on FanDuel. Casey is a proven winner, having racked up three PGA Tour wins and 16 international victories. Last season, Casey was among the best players on his approach shots. In fact, the 44-year-old ranked second on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach the green (.895). His ability to pick up strokes on his approach shots will certainly come in handy this week at The Summit Club, which plays at 7,431 yards.

Casey averaged 303.9 yards per drive last season, which helped him hit 68.83 percent of greens in regulation. If he’s driving the ball well this week, he’ll have a great shot to put himself in advantageous positions to rack up birdies and return solid value for your PGA DFS lineups.

McClure’s optimal PGA DFS strategy also includes rostering Tyrrell Hatton at $8,400 on DraftKings and $9,600 on FanDuel. Hatton struggled down the stretch last season, missing the cut in three of his final four events on the PGA Tour. However, Hatton had tremendous success at the CJ Cup in 2020, securing a T-3 finish after shooting 68 or better in three rounds.

Hatton had a total of four top-10 finishes last season and he was able to secure those positive results thanks in large part to his sensational putting stroke. The 29-year-old Englishman finished last season ranked inside the top-20 in putting average (1.730), overall putting average (1.573) and 3-putt avoidance (1.79), all of which will be critical this week at The Summit Club.
