Week 5 picks for Bears vs. Raiders

Before you tune in to Sunday’s Raiders vs. Bears game, you need to see the picks from SportsLine’s proven model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 5 of the 2021 season on an incredible 124-82 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

For Bears vs. Raiders, the model predicts that Las Vegas will cover as a 5.5-point favorite. The Bears have gone on the road twice so far this season and been demolished, losing 34-14 against the Rams in Week 1 and putting up just 47 yards of total offense in a 26-6 loss to the Browns in Fields’ first start.

Bill Lazor taking over as the play-caller seems to have helped stabilize the offense last week, but the Bears were playing the struggling Lions and now will be without starting running back David Montgomery (knee).

Las Vegas’ offense will benefit if Bears defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (hamstring) winds up missing the game. The Raiders had put up at least 425 yards in their first three games and quarterback Derek Carr will be looking to challenge a young Bears secondary that has had its struggles. The model likes for Carr to throw for over 275 yards and two touchdowns on average to help the Raiders cover in over 50 percent of simulations.
