The battle for the American League pennant continues Friday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston with ALCS Game 6 between the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox. The Astros on Wednesday won Game 5 in blowout fashion and lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Preview
The Astros are one win away from their third pennant in the last five years. The Red Sox, meantime, are trying to force a Game 7 on Saturday. Boston will send Eovaldi to the mound for this elimination game. Eovaldi has generally pitched well this postseason save for his relief appearance in Game 4. He threw just 24 pitches in that outing, so he should be amply rested.
Across the way, Garcia was pulled from his Game 2 start because of a knee strain. After a slight adjustment to his mechanics and a few days of healing, however, he’s ready for this third start of the postseason. Given the injury and Garcia’s recent struggles, he could be in for an early hook. The good news for Dusty Baker is that his bullpen should be rested after a travel day and Framber Valdez’s eight innings in Game 5.
Prediction
The Sox get to Valdez early, and Eovaldi shows peak stuff. It says here we’re going seven games.
