How to watch Spurs vs. Mavericks basketball game

Through 3 Quarters

This game looks like it will end up very different from the tight one-point margin of the Dallas Mavericks’ win over the San Antonio Spurs in their previous head-to-head November. Three quarters in and the Mavericks’ offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating San Antonio 104-77 three quarters in.

Dallas has been relying on point guard Luka Doncic, who has dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 13 assists, and ten boards, and power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who has 27 points in addition to six rebounds and two blocks.

San Antonio hasn’t had any offensive standouts so far with all players held to 14 points or fewer.

If the contest were over now, this would be Dallas’ biggest margin of victory yet this year.

What to Know

A Southwest Division battle is on tap between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday at AT&T Center. San Antonio will be strutting in after a victory while Dallas will be stumbling in from a defeat.

The Mavericks came up short against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, falling 117-107. Dallas’ loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of point guard Luka Doncic, who almost posted a triple-double on 20 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds, and power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, San Antonio didn’t have too much trouble with the Sacramento Kings at home on Wednesday as they won 136-117. San Antonio’s success was spearheaded by the efforts of point guard Dejounte Murray, who had 26 points and seven assists in addition to six boards, and power forward Thaddeus Young, who had 17 points and eight assists along with five rebounds.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Dallas is expected to win a tight contest. True fans might be the only ones betting on them, currently 3-8 ATS, to cover the spread.

The Mavericks got away with a 109-108 win in the teams’ previous meeting earlier this month. Will they repeat their success, or do the Spurs have a better game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
