The Atlanta Hawks will take on the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday at State Farm Arena after having had a few days off. Atlanta is expected to win — but not by much — so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
While not quite a landslide, the matchup between the Hawks and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday was still a pretty decisive one as Atlanta wrapped it up with a 121-110 win on the road. It was another big night for Atlanta’s point guard Trae Young, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 assists along with seven rebounds. That’s the fourth consecutive game in which Young has had at least ten assists.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn came up short against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, falling 114-104. Point guard James Harden put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost posted a triple-double on 25 points, 11 boards, and eight dimes.
Atlanta’s victory brought them up to 13-12 while the Nets’ loss pulled them down to 17-8. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Hawks enter the contest with only 17.6 fouls per game on average, good for fourth best in the league. But Brooklyn comes into the contest boasting the fourth most fouls drawn per game in the league at 19.9. The ref’s whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
