XFL DFS, Week 5: Optimal DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks, advice, lineups

After a 27-20 win over the Dallas Renegades last week to take control of the XFL West, the Houston Roughnecks remain the only unbeaten team in the league. Their high-flying offense has made them popular XFL DFS picks for tournaments, cash games and 50-50s on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings. The Roughnecks are averaging 31.5 points per game and on Saturday they’ll take on a Seattle Dragons defense that has given up 383 yards per game the last two weeks.

That will make the Roughnecks a popular source of XFL DFS stacks, but getting the most out of every dollar you spend in the XFL DFS player pool in Week 5 will be all about striking the right balance. So before you make your Week 5 XFL DFS picks, be sure to check out the optimal XFL DFS strategy from SportsLine’s Mike McClure. He’s won almost $2 million in his career as a daily Fantasy pro, and his top daily Fantasy football picks and XFL DFS advice can help you get an edge over the competition in Week 5.

McClure has a proven track record of daily Fantasy football success. He crushed the 2018 NFL season, cashing in the top 5 percent of tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings multiple times. His optimal lineups cashed as high as the top 0.1 percent on FanDuel and as high as the top 1 percent on DraftKings.

He rolled through the 2019 NFL season as well. Some of his highlights included his Week 5 optimal lineups finishing in the top 1 percent of tournament on DraftKings. In Week 9, his optimal lineups cashed for over 5x on FanDuel and DraftKings. His Week 13 main slate lineups returned at least 10x on DraftKings and produced returns as high as 40x in higher-stakes tournaments. He then continued his roll in the postseason, cashing on every single lineup he posted for the divisional round.

Then in Week 1 of the XFL, his Saturday FanDuel lineup, which was built around Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker (272 yards, 4 TDs), returned over 5x. Anybody who has followed him as seen huge returns.

Now, he has turned his attention to the Week 5 XFL DFS player pool and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks for Week 5. You can only see them here.

Top XFL DFS picks for Week 5

One of McClure’s top XFL DFS picks for Week 5 is Renegades running back Lance Dunbar. The former Cowboys and Rams running back has been sharing the load with former Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne so far this season, but it was Dunbar who led the way with 48 yards rushing and a touchdown while adding two catches for 17 yards in Week 4.

Dunbar has been given a total of 50 touches for 276 yards and a score through four games and should see another dozen touches against the Guardians on Saturday. New York allowed 156 yards rushing to St. Louis two weeks ago.

Part of McClure’s optimal XFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Renegades quarterback P.J. Walker, who leads the XFL in passing yards (987) and passing touchdowns (12). The former Temple star and Colts third-stringer has been the MVP of the league through four weeks.

Walker is completing a solid 62.6 percent of his pass attempts and has also provided value as a runner, rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown in addition to the huge numbers he’s putting up through the air. The Roughnecks should move the ball consistently against a struggling Dragons defense. Walker once again has the highest floor and arguably the highest ceiling of any quarterback in the league.

How to set your Week 5 XFL DFS lineups

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers in Week 5 because of a dream matchup. The stars are aligning for him to go for 30, even 40 points on FanDuel and DraftKings. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments or going home with nothing.
