What you need to know about Army

The Black Knights carried their momentum from 2020 into this season with the impressive victory in their opener. As usual, it was their defense and rushing attack leading the way. Army rushed for 258 yards as 12 different players got at least one carry. Christian Anderson led the way with 15 carries for 55 yards and a score.

Army also held Georgia State to just 10 points and 177 total yards. It’s no surprise since the Black Knights ranked second in scoring defense in 2020, giving up just 14.8 points per game.

What you need to know about Western Kentucky

It was against FCS-level competition, but the Hilltoppers took care of business in their opener as well. Quarterback Bailey Zappe, a transfer from Houston Baptist, put up eye-popping numbers in his debut the Hilltoppers. He was 28 of 35 for 424 yards and a whopping seven touchdowns.

Jerreth Sterns led the way with seven catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Joshua Simon also added two touchdown receptions. This will be an intriguing test for Zappe as he takes on a stingy Black Knights defense.
