NFL football knockout, survivor pool picks, strategy, advice for Week 2, 2021

Since suffering back-to-back three-point losses in late November, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been unbeatable. The club returned from its bye to win its final four regular-season games in 2020 and four more in the playoffs en route to its second Super Bowl championship. Then, it began the 2021 NFL schedule with a 31-29 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys. Tampa Bay aims for its 10th consecutive victory in Week 2 as it hosts the NFC South-rival Atlanta Falcons as a 12.5-point favorite in the latest NFL odds from Caesars Sportsbook. As a result, many will jump on the Buccaneers with their NFL survivor pool picks.

Other favorites that could attract attention for NFL knockout pool picks include the Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5), Green Bay Packers (-11) and Denver Broncos (-6). Before making any Week 2 NFL survivor picks, see which team the red-hot SportsLine Projection Model just went all-in on.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 2 of the 2021 season on an incredible 121-79 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the Top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

In Week 1, the model recommended the 49ers as its top survivor pick. San Francisco won in 75 percent of SportsLine’s simulations, and the Niners built a 28-point lead against the Lions and held on for the win.

Now the model has locked in on the Week 2 NFL schedule and found its top survivor pick. You can only see who it’s backing this week here.

Top Week 2 NFL survivor pool predictions

For Week 2, the model is shying away from the Kansas City Chiefs against the host Baltimore Ravens. Kansas City was involved in a fierce battle against the Cleveland Browns in its season-opener and trailed throughout before Patrick Mahomes performed heroics with a pair of touchdown passes in the final 10:10 of the fourth quarter for a 33-29 victory. The Chiefs will be in for another ferocious clash versus Baltimore, which is coming off a disappointing 33-27 overtime loss at Las Vegas.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson led the team with 86 rushing yards against the Raiders and will shoot for his fourth straight 80-yard performance on the ground in the regular season. The 24-year-old former NFL MVP had success running the ball versus Kansas City last year, gaining 83 yards on nine carries in their Week 3 matchup. Although they’ve lost their last four meetings with the Chiefs, the Ravens are too dangerous in the model’s projections this week.
