What to Know

After a two-game homestand, the Kansas State Wildcats will be on the road. K-State and the Oklahoma State Cowboys will face off in a Big 12 battle at 7 p.m. ET Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

The Wildcats made easy work of the Nevada Wolf Pack last week and carried off a 38-17 victory. K-State QB Will Howard did work as he passed for one TD and 123 yards on ten attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 56 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Howard’s 68-yard TD bomb to TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a tight matchup that could have gone either way, but Oklahoma State made off with a 21-20 win over the Boise State Broncos last week. The Oklahoma State offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway. The Cowboys’ RB Jaylen Warren was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 218 yards on 32 carries. Warren put himself on the highlight reel with a 75-yard TD scramble in the first quarter.

The Wildcats are expected to lose this next one by 6. If their 2-0 record against the spread is anything to go by, the prospects look good for bets placed on them.

The wins brought both teams up to an identical 3-0. Two offensive stats to keep an eye on: K-State is stumbling into the contest with the 207th fewest passing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 148.3 on average. The Cowboys have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 168th worst in the nation in yards per game, with only 336.7 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
