76ers vs. Pistons: How to watch online, live stream info, game time, TV channel

Through 3 Quarters

Only one more quarter stands between the Philadelphia 76ers and the win they were favored to collect going into this night. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Detroit Pistons 82-67.

Philadelphia has enjoyed the tag-team combination of center Joel Embiid and point guard Tyrese Maxey. The former has dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 boards, while the latter has 16 points and six assists in addition to four rebounds and two blocks. Maxey had some trouble finding his footing against the New York Knicks on Tuesday, so this is a step in the right direction.

The 76ers and Detroit have certainly played as if they’re avenging a defeat, because they are. The Sixers just need to hang on one more quarter to get back on their feet.

What to Know

The Detroit Pistons will take on the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. ET Thursday at Wells Fargo Center after having had a few days off. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’

The contest between the Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks on Monday was not particularly close, with Detroit falling 122-104. Small forward Saddiq Bey (21 points) and power forward Kelly Olynyk (21 points) were the top scorers for Detroit.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia lost to the New York Knicks on the road by a decisive 112-99 margin. The losing side was boosted by power forward Tobias Harris, who had 23 points and nine assists along with nine rebounds.

Detroit is expected to lose this next one by 9.5. They have failed bettors playing the spread in all their past three games, so buyers beware.

Detroit is now 0-3 while the 76ers sit at 2-2. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Pistons rank second in the league when it comes to fouls per game, with only 16 on average. But Philadelphia is even better: they come into the matchup boasting the fewest fouls per game in the league at 15.8. We’ll see if that edge gives Philadelphia a route to victory.
