The Arizona Cardinals weren’t sure if they were going to have DeAndre Hopkins for the start of their “Thursday Night Football” showdown with the Green Bay Packers. Hopkins ended up starting the contest, but left Thursday’s game in the first half with the hamstring injury that plagued him throughout the week. Hopkins did return for the Cardinals in the third quarter, as Arizona was trailing 17-7 to Green Bay.
Hopkins was a game-time decision for the game, and ended up with one catch for 55 yards before exiting. He was called for an offensive face mask on the play and didn’t enter the next series for Arizona. His catch occurred with 8:18 left in the first quarter, making an immediate impact in a game between two of the top teams in the NFC.
Hopkins recorded 33 catches for 420 yards and seven touchdowns through seven games this year, averaging 12.7 yards per catch. His seven receiving touchdowns are second in the NFL.
The Cardinals to have options at receiver with Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, Rondale Moore to fill for Hopkins. Tight end Zach Ertz is also another receiving option in case Hopkins doesn’t return.
