Chris Boswell remains in the concussion protocol, two days after he was drilled by Browns defensive lineman Jordan Elliott on a fake punt attempt during Pittsburgh’s 15-10 win over Cleveland. Despite Boswell’s status, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that his kicker’s status is “nothing that alarms us.” Tomlin added that he expected Boswell to be fine for the Steelers”http://www.cbssports.com/”Monday Night Football” matchup against the visiting Chicago Bears

In a preventative measure, the Steelers did sign kicker Josh Lambo to their practice squad on Tuesday. A seven year veteran, Lambo spent his first two seasons with the Chargers before spending the past four-plus seasons with the Jaguars before he was released earlier this season. Lambo has made 87.1 percent of his career field goal attempts and 89.9 percent of his point-after attempts. He was released by the Jaguars after missing each of his three field goal attempts in the season’s first three games.

Boswell did not return to Sunday’s game after suffering a big hit from Elliott near the Steelers’ sideline. Despite not having a kicker, the Steelers overcame a 10-3 deficit to defeat the Browns in Cleveland for the first time since 2017. Among Pittsburgh’s biggest plays in the second half was Ben Roethlisberger’s 2-yard touchdown pass to rookie Pat Freiermuth on fourth and goal.

The Steelers’ starting kicker since 2015, Boswell was selected to the Pro Bowl after making over 92 percent of his field goal attempts. Boswell has made 93.8 percent of his kicks since the start of the 2019 season.
