What to Know
The Southern Jaguars have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Tulane Green Wave and are hoping to record their first victory since Nov. 19 of 2015. The Jaguars’ road trip will continue as they head to Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday to face off against Tulane. The Green Wave should still be feeling good after a win, while Southern will be looking to regain their footing.
The contest between Southern and the Louisville Cardinals on Tuesday was not a total blowout, but with Southern falling 72-60 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. Terrell Williams Jr. had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 34 minutes but putting up just six points on 2-for-12 shooting.
Meanwhile, Tulane came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Tuesday, sneaking past 70-67. The overall outcome was to be expected, but Southeastern Louisiana made it more of a matchup than the oddsmakers had predicted.
Southern’s defeat took them down to 0-1 while Tulane’s victory pulled them up to 1-0. We’ll see if the Jaguars can steal the Green Wave’s luck or if Tulane records another win instead.
