Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter odds, picks, predictions: Boxing insider reveals best bets for Nov. 20 fight

Undefeated welterweight champion Terence Crawford will make the fifth defense of his WBO title Saturday against former two-time champion Shawn Porter in a boxing main event in Las Vegas. Coverage of the pay-per-view portion of the card is set for 9 p.m. ET from the Mandalay Bay Resort. Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs) is widely recognized as one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world by most sports media outlets. His blistering speed and footwork have been too much for every opponent he has faced thus far. But many observers believe he will face his stiffest test yet in Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs), whose three career losses have all come against former or current champions.

Crawford is a -700 favorite (risk $700 to win $100), while Porter is offered at +500 in the latest Crawford vs. Porter odds from Caesars Sportsbook. The over-under for total rounds is set at 10.5, with the over favored at -250 and the under fetching +210. Before locking in any Crawford vs. Porter picks, make sure you check out the boxing predictions and betting advice from SportsLine expert Brandon Wise

Wise, who is the combat sports editor for CBS Sports, is an experienced boxing analyst. Just two weeks ago, he accurately called a stoppage between rounds No. 10 and 12 for Saul “Canelo” Alvarez against Caleb Plant in their super middleweight unification bout. The prop bet paid +450 and Wise also correctly called the fight to go over 9.5 rounds (-125) as Alvarez stopped Plant in Round 11. His strong 2021 boxing record also includes calling Jamel Herring (+105) to upset Carl Frampton (-125) in April. Anyone who has followed Wise’s combat sports picks has seen massive returns.

Now, with Saturday’s mega-fight in sight, Wise has studied Crawford vs. Porter from every angle and identified the best value in the boxing odds. You can only see his highly confident prop bets and money-line picks at SportsLine

Crawford vs. Porter preview

Crawford, 34, has long been seen as a prodigal talent ever since his amateur days, and it’s fair to say he has more than met the hype. Even though he came up short for a bid on the 2008 U.S. Olympic team, his decorated amateur career includes a gold medal at the 2007 U.S. Pan American games.

He turned pro in March 2008 and immediately started breezing through meager competition. He became WBO lightweight champion with a unanimous decision over Ricky Burns in March 2014. He successfully defended it five times before eventually adding the WBC crown by beating Viktor Postol by decision in June 2016.

He has since moved up to capture the WBO welterweight crown and many observers believe Porter will be his toughest test since the resilient Postol went the distance in what was ultimately a one-sided affair in favor of Crawford. The Omaha native’s last fight resulted in a fourth-round stoppage against fading former champion Kell Brook last November.

Porter, also 34, is a former IBF and WBC title-holder who is noted for his nonstop pace and willingness to take on any opponent. His strength of resume is why many believe he will give Crawford a stern test despite the betting odds pegging him as a significant underdog.

Just two years ago, he pushed current IBF and WBC champion Errol Spence Jr. (27-0) to the brink before coming out on the short end of a split decision, by far the closest result of Spence’s career. In his only appearance since, the Cleveland native defeated Sebastian Formella by unanimous decision last August in Los Angeles.
