Tuesday’s Serie A action on Paramount+ saw Juventus beat Salernitana to close back in on the European places while Atalanta thumped Venezia to remain seven points clear of the Bianconeri in the UEFA Champions League spots.

Fiorentina also beat Sampdoria comfortably with his 29th goal from 39 league games this calendar year as the Serbian sharpshooter continues to add to his growing reputation while there was also a goalless draw between Verona and struggling Cagliari.

Salernitana 0, Juventus 2

Massimiliano Allegri’s men are back to winning ways after a 2-0 success which saw Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata do the damage with Giorgio Chiellini denied a rare goal via VAR and Dybala missing a late penalty. Juve are now up to seventh but there is a significant gap between La Vecchia Signora and the Champions League places right now.

Atalanta 4, Venezia 0

Elsewhere, Mario Pasalic hit a hat-trick as Gian Piero Gasperini’s men celebrated the Italian tactician’s new contract until 2024 with a 4-0 thrashing of Venezia which also saw Teun Koopmeiners tally as Luis Muriel added two assists. After a slow start to the season, La Dea are really motoring now and are provisionally within four points of top spot.

Fiorentina 3, Sampdoria 1

There was also a 3-1 win for Fiorentina to remain level on points with Juve and Vlahovic, Jose Callejon as well as Riccardo Sottil all scored for Vincenzo Italiano’s side. Sampdoria did take the lead through Manolo Gabbiadini, but Viola hit three before the break and are now forging their way into continental contention.

Verona 0, Cagliari 0

Finally, there was a 0-0 draw between these two which does not help the Sardinians as Walter Mazzarri’s men battle against the drop and remain yet to break into double figures for points.
