The New York Giants are no longer holding the attention of one of the greatest players in franchise story. According to TMZ Sports, Hall of Fame linebacker and Giants legend Lawrence Taylor doesn’t follow the Giants anymore.

He is so far removed from paying attention that he apparently had no idea Eli Manning was no longer the starting quarterback.

In a call with TMZ Sports, along with former teammate Ottis Anderson, Taylor also claimed he had no idea who current head coach Joe Judge and quarterback Daniel Jones even were.

“Daniel Jones is the [what?]” Taylor said. “You mean to tell me Eli is not the quarterback no more?!? Get the f— out of here!”

At first, it was unclear if Taylor was joking or not. But it seems pretty obvious that the Hall of Famer doesn’t follow his former team in any capacity — and his former teammate backed him up.

“He doesn’t watch, I’m telling you,” Anderson said.”We were talking earlier and we were talking about [Dave] Gettleman and Joe Judge and he said, ‘Who? Joe Judge? You talking Joe Kid, the one that played Clint Eastwood?!”http://www.cbssports.com/”

Considering the Giants’ struggles in recent years, it’s hard to blame Taylor for not wanting to follow his former team. The Giants have only reached the postseason on one occasion in the past nine years and appear to be destined to miss another one as they currently have a 4-8 record following Sunday’s 20-9 loss in Miami.
