The Creighton Bluejays will square off against the #24 Brigham Young Cougars at noon ET on Saturday at Sanford Pentagon. Creighton will be seeking to avenge the 88-82 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played March 22 of 2016.
The Bluejays entered their contest against the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday without any home losses — but there’s a first time for everything. Creighton was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap as they fell 64-58 to Iowa State. The losing side was boosted by forward Ryan Hawkins, who had 25 points along with five boards.
Meanwhile, BYU didn’t have too much trouble with the Utah State Aggies at home on Wednesday as they won 82-71. BYU got double-digit scores from four players: guard Alex Barcello (17), guard Te’Jon Lucas (14), forward Fousseyni Traore (14), and guard Trevin Knell (13).
Brigham Young’s victory lifted them to 8-1 while Creighton’s loss dropped them down to 7-2. We’ll see if the Cougars can repeat their recent success or if the Bluejays bounce back and reverse their fortune.
