The #10 Kentucky Wildcats have enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 5:15 p.m. ET Saturday at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The Wildcats should still be riding high after a victory, while Notre Dame will be looking to regain their footing.
UK strolled past the Southern Jaguars with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 76-64. It was another big night for UK’s forward Oscar Tshiebwe, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds in addition to four blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tshiebwe has had at least 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame ended up a good deal behind the Boston College Eagles when they played last week, losing 73-57. Guard Blake Wesley wasn’t much of a difference maker for Notre Dame; Wesley finished with 12 points on 4-for-13 shooting and turned the ball over four times in his 26 minutes on the court.
The Wildcats are the favorite in this one, with an expected 4.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take UK against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.
UK’s win brought them up to 7-1 while Notre Dame’s defeat pulled them down to 3-4. UK is 6-0 after wins this season, and Notre Dame is 1-2 after losses.
