The Denver Pioneers will take on the Dixie St. Trailblazers at 9 p.m. ET this past Saturday at Burns Arena. Denver will be seeking to avenge the 73-70 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 12 of last year.
A victory for the Pioneers just wasn’t in the stars this past Thursday as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 87-67 punch to the gut against the New Mexico Lobos. The losing side was boosted by guard Coban Porter, who had 19 points.
Meanwhile, Dixie St. simply couldn’t be stopped two weeks ago, as they easily beat the Saint Katherine College Firebirds at home 97-65.
Denver is expected to lose this next one by 5. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Thursday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
Dixie St.’s win lifted them to 4-5 while Denver’s defeat dropped them down to 3-8. We’ll see if Dixie St. can repeat their recent success or if Denver bounces back and reverse their fortune.
