The Charlotte Hornets need to shore up a defense that is allowing 116.08 points per game before their contest Sunday. They will take on the Phoenix Suns at 7 p.m. ET at Spectrum Center after having had a few days off. The point spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close matchup.
The Hornets were able to grind out a solid victory over the Indiana Pacers this past Wednesday, winning 116-108. Charlotte can attribute much of their success to shooting guard Terry Rozier, who shot 5-for-9 from downtown and finished with 35 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Phoenix’s 2021 ended with a 123-108 defeat against the Boston Celtics this past Friday. Phoenix was down 100-77 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Despite the loss, they had strong showings from power forward Jalen Smith, who had 19 points in addition to seven boards, and small forward Cameron Johnson, who had 20 points along with five rebounds.
