Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora III preview
This week marks the seven-year anniversary of Fury’s decision win over Wladimir Klitschko that made Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) the heavyweight champion for the first time. He took three major belts from Klitschko in a decisive but lackluster performance over the fading former champion.
Fury reflected this week on how far he has come since that landmark victory. While he was once admittedly a cautious warrior who used his height and reach advantages to score points and limit exposure, fans were slow to warm up to his risk-averse style.
That all changed when his first fight with Deontay Wilder in December 2018 ended in a split draw that saw Fury hit the canvas twice. He realized he needed to adopt a more aggressive approach, and the addition of trainer SugarHill Steward played a big role in Fury stopping Wilder in their second and third matches.

Usyk won a unanimous decision, but the scores were 115-113 (seven rounds to five) on two cards, with the other coming in at 117-112.
Chisora’s next two fights came against Joseph Parker, the former WBO champion who started his career with a 24-0 record before losing to Anthony Joshua in March 2018. Chisora (33-12, 23 KOs lost a disputed split decision to Parker in May 2021 and a subsequent rematch in December of that year went to Parker in a close but unanimous decision.
