The Nuggets have been relying on center Nikola Jokic, who has 13 points and five assists, and shooting guard Will Barton, who has 13 points and three assists in addition to three boards and one block. A double-double would be Jokic’s seventh in a row.
New Orleans hasn’t had any offensive standouts so far with all players held to eight points or fewer.

What to Know
The Denver Nuggets will take on the New Orleans Pelicans at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday at Smoothie King Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
The Nuggets ended up a good deal behind the Chicago Bulls when they played on Monday, losing 109-97. Denver’s loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of center Nikola Jokic, who posted a triple-double on 17 points, 15 dimes, and 12 rebounds, and point guard Monte Morris, who had 19 points and seven assists. Jokic now has three triple-doubles this season.
Meanwhile, New Orleans came up short against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, falling 118-108. Shooting guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker wasn’t much of a difference maker for the Pelicans; Alexander-Walker played for 27 minutes with 3-for-13 shooting.
Barring any buzzer beaters, Denver is expected to win a tight contest. But bettors beware: they are only 3-6 against the spread when favored.
Denver is now 11-12 while New Orleans sits at 7-19. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Nuggets enter the contest with only 104.1 points allowed per game on average, good for third best in the league. Less enviably, the Pelicans have allowed their opponents to shoot 47.40% from the floor on average, which is the third highest shooting percentage allowed in the league.
